What Is the Difference between Juvederm and Voluma?

Juvederm and Voluma are dermal fillers that help to reduce the appearance of facial lines. These fillers help smooth out the skin and fill in the areas that are prone to wrinkles. And though they’re similar, there are a couple of important differences. If wrinkles have gotten you down, please contact one of our Scottsdale cosmetic surgeons today at 480-696-6361 to schedule your Voluma consultation.

Juvéderm

Juvederm is made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally-occurring bodily substance that rejuvenates joints and other tissue. As we grow older, our bodies naturally produce less and less of this vital substance, but Juvederm helps restore levels of hyaluronic acid for a firmer, smoother appearance.

Voluma

Voluma is a product from the makers of Juvederm. Like Juvederm, it contains hyaluronic acid, but it also contains an ingredient called lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic to help make the injection more comfortable. Voluma is also manufactured with longevity in mind. While Juvederm treatments typically last for 6 to 9 months, some patients report up to two years of success from Voluma fillers.

FDA Approved

Both Juvederm and Voluma are FDA approved and have been used successfully for years, both domestically and abroad. To find out which one is right for you, you need only make a phone call.
