It is normal to be unsure of which breast procedure will give you the results you are looking for. If you have plenty of breast tissue, a breast lift may be sufficient by itself. Often, women who had large breasts lose volume and begin to sag simultaneously, and a lift will not restore the breasts of your youth. This procedure can also be an important part of a Mommy Makeover. A breast lift plus breast augmentation is appropriate for women who:

Breast enlargement will not correct sagging breasts, and a lift alone will not add volume. A breast lift with implants sculpts your breasts into the shape and size that you want, creating firmness, correcting the position and shape of your breasts, and adding volume without the need for multiple procedures.
Many women seek breast augmentation to restore breasts that have begun to sag due to age, pregnancy, or weight loss. In most cases, implants alone will not significantly lift the breasts and the added weight of the implants can make sagging worse over time if your skin has lost elasticity. By combining the enlargement with a lift, we remove the excess skin and create the proper framework for your breasts, supporting both the existing tissue and the implants.
By combining the procedures, you avoid doubling up on your recovery time and allowing for a more comprehensive approach. Your lift will be designed to accommodate the implants, and the implants will be chosen to enhance and work best with your shape after the lift. Combining the procedures should not involve a longer recovery period than having one procedure alone, and you enjoy optimal results much faster than two separate procedures.
After your breast augmentation lift procedure, you will be sent home with bandages around your incision sites to help reduce swelling and minimize bleeding. Your surgeon will give you specific instructions for what you can and cannot do immediately after surgery and in the weeks to come.
The recovery process varies from patient to patient based on the extent of the procedure and your ability to heal. In general, you will need to avoid strenuous activity for a few weeks, although many patients begin to feel like themselves a few days after their procedure.
For many breast augmentation patients, it can take a few months for all the swelling in the breasts to subside. This is just a natural part of healing for many women and you should not be worried if it has been a month and your breasts feel hard or look swollen.
